CRCHD FINALIZES TRANSITION TO RACINE COUNTY PUBLIC HEALTH DIVISION

Post Date:12/09/2021 1:23 PM
RACINE – The Central Racine County Health Department (CRCHD) will complete its transition to the new Racine County Public Health Division on Jan. 1, 2022.

"Racine County and the CRCHD have a long history of collaboration and working together to meet the needs of the community," said Racine County Executive Jonathan Delagrave. "The County is excited for this opportunity to support, and ultimately strengthen, public health services for our residents."

The Racine County Public Health Division, under the leadership of Health Officer Jeff Langlieb, will consolidate under the County’s Human Services Division.

"We look forward to this new chapter of collaboration with Racine County," said Health Officer Jeff Langlieb. “Under this new structure, we will work to ensure the delivery of high-quality public health services while creating fiscal and operational synergies. In addition, we remain committed to being responsive to the health needs of Racine County citizens.”

COVID-19 magnified the strains of the CRCHD’s previous model and emphasized the importance of this transition. The Racine County Public Health Division will now have a county structure to support its mission to deliver exceptional public health services to the communities it serves.

"There is a natural synergy between the Racine County Public Health Division and Human Services," said Racine County Human Services Director Hope Otto. "Together, we can enhance wellness and preventative services to our residents while providing long-term sustainability for an essential component to our community's health and safety. This transition is a win-win for the Racine County community."

The transition, which was approved by the Racine County Board on August 24, 2021, will have no impact on services offered by the former-CRCHD.

The Racine County Public Health Division will serve the City of Burlington, Town of Burlington, Village of Caledonia, Town of Dover, Village of Elmwood Park, Village of Mount Pleasant, Village of North Bay, Town of Norway, Village of Raymond, Village of Rochester, Village of Sturtevant, Village of Union Grove, Town of Waterford, Village of Waterford, Village of Wind Point and the Village of Yorkville.

The Racine County Public Health Division will have a new website located at racinecounty.com/publichealth, and the former CRCHD address and phone number will remain the same.
