STATE FUNDING MAKES RESIDENTIAL SUBSTANCE ABUSE CARE A REALITY
Post Date:04/22/2022 9:16 AM
RACINE — Racine County continues to expand its options to assist individuals experiencing substance use disorders.
The County was awarded approximately $53,000 from the State of Wisconsin to cover room and board costs for qualifying Medicaid members making residential substance use treatment an option for those with an opioid use disorder.
Previously, inequities in reimbursement made the option of residential substance abuse care inaccessible to Racine County residents. These state funds will bridge this funding gap and provide long-overdue support to individuals in need.
"Racine County can now pay for room and board for Substance Use Residential Treatment for people suffering from an opioid use disorder through this state grant," said Racine County Outpatient Clinic Manager Pauline Ortloff. "We are very pleased to be able to expand the levels of care to include residential programming for opioid use disorders. This expansion will give another avenue to assist individuals with an opioid use disorder in the county."
Individuals with an opioid use disorder can contact Intake Services at the Behavioral Health Services of Racine County Outpatient Clinic at 638-6744. Intake Services is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for telephone calls or walk-in services at 1717 Taylor Avenue in Racine, south entrance. Staff from the intake area will assist you in getting set up with the necessary appointments for substance use treatment, including screening for residential services.
