In celebration of Juneteenth, Racine County will be hosting a pair of events on both the east and west ends.
In Racine, the County will be hosting an event focused on local entrepreneurs and small businesses at the Dr. John Bryant Community Center from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wed., June 15. The Juneteenth event will feature a discussion of the bid process with CG Schmidt and Gilbane, followed by a roundtable discussion on starting, growing, and sustaining local businesses with area contractors. On Sun., June 19, Racine County will be hosting a free movie at Village Hall Park in Waterford at 8 p.m. The film shown will be "Hidden Figures," the story of a team of female African-American mathematicians who served a vital role in NASA during the early years of the U.S. space program. Concessions will be available for purchase at the event.
