Post Date:11/09/2023 9:46 AM

RACINE – The Racine County Board of Supervisors approved a $243 million budget for 2024 in resounding fashion Tuesday evening in the Peter L. Hansen County Board Chambers. Tuesday’s vote marked the third consecutive year a proposed budget received unanimous approval by the County Board.

“This budget has tested our fiscal resilience, but we remain committed to offering top-notch services for our residents,” said County Executive Jonathan Delagrave. “I am thankful for the support and input of our fellow elected officials, especially our legislative branch, and the hard work of our department heads.”

Highlights of the 2024 budget include work to enhance access to mental health services, and continued investments in public safety and highway improvements. The budget includes the allocation of the remaining $14.4 million in American Rescue Plan Act funding for the expansion of the Taylor Avenue campus with a new mental health facility to be located at 1720 Taylor Ave.

Racine County hosted a series of public information sessions to inform residents of the budget process in October.
