Racine County Communications Center (RCCC)

The Racine County Communications Center (RCCC) answers all non-emergency and emergency calls for the entire County of Racine. We currently serve a population of more than 195,000 residents and answer over 300,000 calls each year.

We also manage radio communications for every agency we serve. Our staff includes 46 dispatchers who provide service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, across five shifts. Each dispatcher completes several months of specialized training before becoming a qualified Dispatch Technician.

To provide efficient emergency communications, dispatchers use multiple technology systems including CAD, Enhanced Wireless 911, mapping software, AVL, radio systems, and other public safety technologies.

History of the Racine County Communications Center

In 2011, three of the four communications centers in Racine County combined operations under a joint contractual agreement involving the City of Racine, Racine County, and the Villages of Mount Pleasant, Caledonia, and Sturtevant.

The City of Burlington joined the communications center in December 2017. This partnership was created to improve efficiency, provide faster emergency response, and reduce costs for taxpayers.

Today, the Racine County Communications Center eliminates the need to transfer 911 calls between municipalities, provides a single non-emergency phone number for Racine County, and delivers coordinated emergency communications with fewer resources while maintaining a high level of public service.
