Welcome to the Register of Deeds Office.
Document Searching
Public computer access for document searching is available from 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. on a first-come, first-served basis. Staff are unable to assist with document searches.
Genealogy Searches
Genealogy searches are available by appointment only. Appointments are offered Tuesday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. in two-hour increments.
Real Estate Documents
Documents may be dropped off, mailed, or filed electronically. If you do not currently e-file, consider contacting a title company or an electronic recording service provider.
Vital Records
Vital records can be requested by mail, online, or through any local Register of Deeds office.
Order online through VitalChek (Racine County) or through the Wisconsin State Vital Records Office .
Important: Completed in-person applications for vital records will be accepted until 3:45 p.m. All other requests submitted after this time will be processed the next business day.
Marriage Licenses
Applications may be mailed or dropped off at the office.
