The Racine County Metro Drug Unit is staffed by eight dedicated Investigators, including one from the Mount Pleasant Police Department, along with a supervising Sergeant. This specialized unit was established to lead a coordinated and comprehensive effort in investigating and apprehending individuals involved in illegal drug trafficking within Racine County.
The unit collaborates closely with federal agencies, including the FBI, IRS, DEA, and the Federal Prosecutor’s Office, as well as various state and local law enforcement agencies. Additionally, the Metro Drug Unit is an active participant in SEADOG, a five-county intelligence and information-sharing cooperative that enhances regional drug enforcement efforts and is a member of HIDTA (High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas Program) which was created by Congress to provide assistance to Federal, state, local and tribal law enforcement agencies operating in areas determined to be critical drug-trafficking regions of the United States.
