 Cain

K9 Cain is a highly driven German Shepherd/Dutch Shepherd mix, born on December 4, 2022, in Hungary. After arriving in the United States, Cain underwent advanced training at Southern Police Canine, Inc. in North Carolina, where he developed the specialized skills needed for law enforcement service.

In January 2024, Cain was officially assigned to patrol duties with his handler, Deputy Zimmerman, forming a dynamic K9 team dedicated to protecting and serving Racine County. Cain is trained in a variety of essential functions, including tracking, narcotics detection, handler protection, and support for vehicle and building searches.

When he's off duty, Cain enjoys the simple joys of life—playing fetch with his favorite ball, soaking up attention, and sneaking in a few well-earned naps. His loyal nature and vibrant personality make him not only a valuable partner in the field, but also a beloved presence within the department.

With unwavering focus and enthusiasm, K9 Cain exemplifies the commitment and courage of the Racine County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit.

Zeke

 

K9 Zeke, a Belgian Malinois, was born on May 20, 2020.  He joined the department on July 19, 2021 alongside his handler, Deputy Michael Allard.

 

 

 

 

 

Maxx

 K9 Maxx, a black and tan German Shepherd, was born on May 1, 2016, and joined the department in November of 2022, alongside his handler, Sergeant Angelo Sackman. Following an intensive six-week training academy, he earned certification as a dual-purpose patrol K9, excelling in building searches, narcotics detection, tracking, and article searches.

Beyond his role in law enforcement, K9 Maxx is a cherished member of the Sackman family, where he shares his home with his German Shepherd brother, Jake. His dedication to service extends beyond duty, as he actively engages with the community, strengthening public relations through outreach and education.

With boundless energy and unwavering loyalty, K9 Maxx embodies the commitment and excellence of the Racine County Sheriff's Office K9 Unit. His service, both on duty and in the community, makes him an invaluable part of our team.

 

Stella 3

K9 Stella, an English Labrador Retriever, was born in Ohio on August 19, 2022. She joined the department on June 15, 2024, alongside her handler, Investigator Anthony LaCombe, and is assigned to the Criminal Investigations Bureau’s Internet Crimes Against Children Unit.

K9 Stella holds dual certifications in Electronic Storage Detection and Therapy K-9 services, making her a valuable asset in both investigative operations and victim support. Her expertise in electronic storage detection enhances digital forensic investigations, while her therapy training allows her to provide comfort and support in sensitive situations. Off duty, K9 Stella enjoys spending her time playing fetch with her favorite tennis ball, showcasing her playful and energetic nature.

 

Clyde

 

K9 Clyde, a German Shepherd/Belgian Malinois mix, was born on July 26, 2022, and imported to the United States from Hungary. He is trained to respond to commands in Dutch, showcasing his advanced international training and discipline.

K9 Clyde completed his formal training at Southern Police Canine in North Carolina before being assigned to his handler, Deputy Kurt Clemens, on July 17, 2023. As a highly skilled working K9, he is proficient in Tracking suspects and lost persons, handler protection, locating illegal narcotics, assisting with search warrants and vehicle searches.

Through rigorous training and unwavering dedication, K9 Clyde plays a vital role in law enforcement operations, enhancing the effectiveness and safety of his team while serving the community with excellence.

Gus

 

K9 Gus is a purebred German Shepherd, born on November 29, 2022, in Hungary. He received his certification through Southern Police Canine, a respected training facility in North Carolina, where he developed the foundational skills required for patrol and detection work in law enforcement.

Currently assigned to the Racine County Sheriff’s Office with his handler, Deputy Cortnie Schattner, Gus serves with strength, focus, and commitment—supporting day-to-day operations and contributing to the overall safety of the community. His intelligence, drive, and trainability make him a valuable partner on the front lines.

When he’s off duty, K9 Gus trades his patrol vest for relaxation, happily spending his free time playing with his favorite Kong toy, lounging around the house, and—of course—just being a very good boy.

With both professionalism and personality, K9 Gus embodies the spirit of dedication and service in the Racine County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit.

Simba

 

K9 Simba, a Belgian Malinois, was born on September 28, 2020.  He joined the department on October 4, 2021, alongside his handler, Deputy Nathan Poelmann.  

 

 

 

 

 

K9 Stax

 

K9 Stax, a dual-purpose Belgian Malinois, was born on December 7, 2018, in the Netherlands. He was partnered with his handler, Sergeant Anthony Valenti, in July of 2019, following the completion of an intensive six-week K9 handler course at Southern Police Canine in North Carolina, where they trained in advanced patrol and detection techniques.

Certified in narcotics detection, tracking, suspect apprehension, building searches, and evidence recovery, K9 Stax plays a vital role in 3rd shift patrol operations, contributing to enhanced officer safety and operational effectiveness.

With unwavering focus and exceptional drive, K9 Stax continues to serve as a loyal and highly capable member of the Racine County Sheriff's Office K9 Unit, dedicated to protecting the citizens of Racine County.
