PEER Support Team

The Racine County Sheriff's Office has established a PEER Support team to provide confidential assistance and resources to its Deputies and Corrections Officers. These specialized teams are composed of trained individuals who have experienced similar challenges and can offer empathetic support to their colleagues.

The PEER Support team plays a crucial role in addressing the unique stresses and demands faced by law enforcement professionals. By fostering a culture of open communication and mutual understanding, the team aims to destigmatize mental health concerns and encourage Deputies & Corrections Officers to seek the help they need.

Through one-on-one conversations, group discussions, and referrals to professional counseling services, the PEER Support team offers a safe and confidential space for Deputies and Corrections Officers to share their experiences, process their emotions, and develop coping strategies. This proactive approach helps to ensure the overall well-being and resilience of the Racine County Sheriff's Office personnel.
